About Darrell

Mayor Darrell Mussatto was born and raised in North Vancouver and continues to live in the City, only steps away from his mother, Eileen Mussatto, who was also born in North Vancouver. He attended Brooksbank Elementary, Sutherland and Carson Graham Secondary and is a member of St Edmund’s Parish. Darrell has been honoured to serve his community as a Councillor since 1993 and as Mayor since 2005. He is a decorated ambulance paramedic and also worked as a teacher upon graduation from Simon Fraser University. Darrell is passionate about the City and its people – people who are his friends and neighbours. He is a positive leader who listens to all members of the community, includes everyone in tough decisions and believes in finding solutions that work for everyone. He believes in making the City a place where the benefits of growth are shared by all by supporting affordable housing initiatives, child care, new parks, trails and recreation facilities.

With Darrell as Mayor, the City of North Vancouver has proven to be an award-winning national leader in lowering its carbon footprint through bike-friendly policies, reducing energy use, managing our liquid and solid waste in a more environmentally friendly way, supporting urban gardening and expanding the award-winning Lonsdale Energy Corporation.
